Our Chart on Biden bill shows largest immigration increase ever -- even without the amnesties

Our staff has finished combing through every detail of the massive immigration legislation introduced for Pres. Biden. And NumbersUSA is once again applying numbers to every category in another of our signature "impact charts.".

This impact chart contains an astounding revelation:

Despite all the attention on the amnesties in Biden's bill, the expansion of the annual legal immigration categories may add more millions of foreign workers than even the biggest amnesties in history that are contained in the bill.

If you read the footnotes, you will see that Rosemary Jenks, our Director of Government Relations, has for all categories provided a conservative estimate of how many people would get green cards if Congress passes the Biden legislation that was introduced as H.R. 1177 in the House and as S. 348 in the Senate.

Following are the most terrifying numbers the chart provides, as far as I'm concerned. But you should dig into the chart to see for yourself at: https://www.numbersusa.com/biden-amnesty-10-year-lprs

2.4 million

That is the average legal immigration PER YEAR we could conservatively expect if Congress approves the Biden bill. That is more than double the 1,063,345 per year who got green cards in the 10 years from 2010 to 2019. Keep in mind that the current annual level of green cards has been driving down wages and driving Americans out of their jobs -- especially Americans without a college degree -- for decades.

13.4 million

The Biden bill would increase annual legal immigration in regular categories by a minimum of 13.4 million lifetime work permits over the NEXT DECADE. That is 13.4 million above the recent level of nearly 11 million for a total of more than 24 million for the next 10 years, with no end in sight.

11.6 million

This is the conservative AMNESTY estimate of green cards that would be offered to nearly all foreign citizens who illegally crossed the border or overstayed their visa by Jan. 1 of this year, plus 600,000 who came in legally as "non-immigrants." You'll see the chart's four amnesty categories and their reliance on estimates made by the Migration Policy Institute. It is quite possible that the actual numbers are higher. Most of these illegal aliens (7 million) would be given provisional work authorization almost immediately and then could get their lifetime work permits and green cards in 2027. The rest of the 11.6 million would get their permanent green cards almost immediately, in the first year.

37 MILLION

The chart suggests that we should talk about Pres. Biden's "U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021" in terms of adding a minimum of 37 million permanent legal immigrants to the country over the next 10 years. It would roughly double the population of permanent foreign-born residents in the communities of America. Another way of looking at it is that after Congress has unleashed FIVE decades of an internationally unprecedented flow of immigration on the United States to build up the current foreign-born population, Pres. Biden has proposed to double that accumulation in just ONE decade.

It is the equivalent of creating a second California filled entirely with foreign citizens with new green cards over the next decade.

If Pres. Biden, House Speaker Pelosi and Senate Leader Schumer get their way with this legislation, pity the millions of Americans of every race and ethnicity who are waiting in the hiring lines of the country hoping to be told they finally have a job. And give up all hope for the millions more of Americans who long ago left the labor market entirely because the flood of foreign workers had already taken away the incentive for U.S. employers to recruit, hire and train from the unused labor of the burgeoning underclasses of our national community.

We suspected that this legislation would be the greatest attack ever on our country's working-age population. The confirmation is in NumbersUSA's "Estimated 10-Year Impact of the Biden Amnesty Bill on Legal Immigration Numbers."

It will be up to the citizens of America to make sure that our Representatives and Senators understand the magnitude of this mistake. And understand that all of us understand, and will hold them accountable.
