Public Description:  

The bill as amended on the House floor, would: (1) prohibit all three mortgage lending government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) – Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks – from obtaining primary residential mortgages being granted to any person who does not have a valid Social Security number (amendment sponsored by Rep. John Doolittle [R-Calif.]); and (2) prevent illegal immigrants from owning or renting Federally-funded “affordable housing” built by requiring the adult occupants of that housing to establish their legal residency through the use of secure forms of identification.

To reform the regulation of certain housing-related Government-sponsored enterprises, and for other purposes.
