The Flags of March for 'America'

Published:

Length:  1 min 49 sec

During our coverage of the March for America, NumbersUSA's staff saw a number of foreign flags (and even an upside down American flag at the 19 second mark). It seems a little strange that people marching to become U.S. citizens would march with foreign flags or would mistreat Old Glory. Take a look and decide for yourself.

A new poll conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute and funded by the Ford Foundation attempts to debunk a poll conducted a few months ago by Zogby and the Center for Immigration Studies. I invite you to compare the questions. I think you’ll find that the Zogby poll tries to reveal people’s opinions versus the Public Religion Research poll that tries to manufacture people’s opinions.

Are You Ready for a Biometric Social Security Card?

Published:

The premise of using a biometric employment card (which would most likely contain fingerprint data) to stop illegal immigrants from working requires that all 150 million–plus American workers, not just immigrants, have one. Michael Cherry, president of identification-technology company Cherry Biometrics, says the accuracy of such large-scale biometric measuring hasn't been proved. "What study have we done?" he says.

Immigration: The Next Hot Topic in Washington?

Published:

But the head of a group that wants much less immigration says reform advocates face daunting odds.

"They have a pretty impossible task. They're in town saying eight million people here illegally should be at the front of the line while 25 million Americans are out of jobs," Roy Beck with NumbersUSA said.http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2010/March/Could-Immigration-Be-Next-Hot-Topic-in-Washington/

MORRIS: A crushing burden on blacks

Published:

There is ample blame to be laid at the White House door, but the 43 members of the CBC who represent largely black constituencies also bear a large share of the responsibility. While some 8 million existing U.S. jobs are estimated to be held by illegal aliens, the CBC, like Mr. Obama, has consistently opposed tough enforcement of laws against employing illegal aliens. Many of the jobs filled by illegal aliens could be filled by black Americans, especially the huge cohort of black youth who are neither in school nor part of the labor force.

The right way to mend immigration

Published:

Our immigration system is badly broken. Although our borders have become far more secure in recent years, too many people seeking illegal entry get through. We have no way to track whether the millions who enter the United States on valid visas each year leave when they are supposed to. And employers are burdened by a complicated system for verifying workers' immigration status.

DeLay: The Left Is Right on Immigration Reform Delay

Published:

Illegal immigration and our broken immigration system is a serious matter and should be a Congressional and presidential priority.

Given the complexity and the magnitude of the problem, if immigration reform has any chance of bipartisan success, either this year or next, it must contain border security measures much stronger than the current law. What we are doing now just doesn’t work. As a matter of national security, we absolutely must secure our borders.
