The Members of the Reclaim American Jobs Caucus sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder responding to a brief filed by the Justice Department urging the Supreme Court to review Arizona's E-Verify law. The law suspends the business license of any business that hires illegal aliens, but the Obama Administration believes the law oversteps federal authority.

For the past five years I have been a full-time student, first receiving my B.A., then moving on to law school. With only two years left in law school and a serious amount of debt piling up, the thought of finding a job after I receive my J.D. is constantly on my mind. Unfortunately, the Labor Department has reported that times have never been harder on Americans my age even though the federal government continues to import high levels of foreign workers.

Samuelson Raises Possibility That High Immigration Being Used To Promote Income Redistribution

Perhaps no opinion leader in America more defines true middle-ground, objective thinking about economic matters than nationally syndicated columnist Robert J. Samuelson. He simply does not fit in either left-wing or right-wing ideological camps, and his analysis is always based primarily on a clear-eyed view of hard data. On immigration, he also stands between the major camps. So, his latest comments on immigration are most interesting.

The Anti-Worker May Day Marches (why not to get depressed watching them)

Updated: October 2nd, 2017, 4:18 pm

Published:

These marches today are supposed to be part of an international day of protest for better worker rights. But the ones in the U.S. mainly are pushing for de facto open borders that would drive our U.S. workers' wages down toward global averages. Thus, these marchers are not pro-workers but want the same thing as the greediest, most abusive of business interests. It can be a little disconcerting to see all those news reports this weekend of tens of thousands (perhaps hundreds of thousands) of illegal aliens and their friends marching openly in the streets demanding rewards for breaking immigration laws. But take it from somebody who has been working full-time for the opposite cause since 1991 that the noise in the streets isn't the sound that matters in politics.

Boycott Arizona? No way, It’s a Cheap Publicity Stunt

On the day before Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed SB1070 into law, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) called for a boycott of his own state. He opposes the new immigration enforcement law. The proposed boycott of Arizona is a cheap publicity stunt. It is counter-productive to the U.S. worker and it is completely illogical. I flew to Arizona today and spent $100 in Phoenix on Arizona made products. I feel good about it and might plan a family vacation to Scottsdale this summer.

I just came back from taping an interview for the national CBS nightly news regarding the new Arizona immigration-enforcement law. My main point was that states are going to keep passing laws like these as long as the federal government allows 7 million illegal alien to continue to hold jobs and keep millions of Americans unemployed.

DNC Survey Shows Why Illegal-Alien Marchers This Weekend Should Be Frustrated

Reading a survey mailed to me by the Democratic National Committee gives some insight into the frustration driving the thousands of illegal aliens marching in the streets against them this weekend. For all the talk by DNC leaders in favor of an amnesty, they didn't want to bring up immigration to people from whom they hoped to raise money.

Our grassroots mobilization numbers are in for last weekend, and I have no doubt that far more of you were standing up for 25 million Americans who can't find a full-time job than marchers on the National Mall demanding that the jobs stay with 8 million illegal aliens. And when we just count voters among them . . . . . .

SEIU Showed Itself a Pro At Sunday March in Silencing Debate -- Mime's Audio Is One Proof

The Battle of the Mimes looks pretty silly in many ways. But beneath the makeup and balloons, the SEIU's "silencing campaign" on Sunday showed a lot about the ability and willingness of one of the biggest money/muscle partners of the pro-amnesty forces to use well-orchestrated intimidation to keep debate from happening. Perhaps surprising was that the main intent was not so much to silence me but to silence their pro-amnesty marchers. Once the Park Police finally required that the marchers be given the right to speak to us, we could see why SEIU didn't want them to be heard. Pretty radical stuff . . .

If you weren't sure why you need to visit your Congressman's local office Friday -- or do the rest of our S.T.O.P. AMNESTY IN 4 DAYS activities -- Sen. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Graham (R-S.C.) made it clear today. They released the outline of the amnesty bill they hope to push through the Senate after the marchers go home. Conservative Leaders (not activists) Cold-Shoulder The Jobless By Ignoring Immigration

Updated: October 2nd, 2017, 4:28 pm

Published:

Most of the spotlighted conservative leaders at the giant CPAC convention this weekend showed that they are far more interested in the feelings of Republican Party major donors than in offering help for 25 million Americans who can't find a full-time job. Americans might have hoped that finally at this meeting there would be a sign of true leadership in stopping the massive importation of new foreign workers during a jobs depression. But on that topic, hope was as scarce as at the Obama White House.

Massive firings in Brewster, and a big debate about illegal immigration

Published:

Federal immigration authorities had alerted Gebbers Farms that a number of its employees' hiring forms were suspect. Unless those employees could prove they were in this country legally, the company would let them go.

Many couldn't. Like the vast majority of America's agricultural work force, they were illegal immigrants who used fake documents to get jobs picking and packing fruit, in this case in and around this small town on the Columbia River north of Wenatchee.

For those of you whose primary political interest is stopping the growth of government or even shrinking it, you have to contend with national leaders who say they agree with you but who refuse to deal with immigration. They say immigration is a "social" issue that isn't related to government spending and deficit issues. They couldn't be more wrong. . . .
