55,000 Illegal Aliens Released into U.S. without 'Notice to Appear' Since March

Published:

According to a recent report on Axios.com, approximately 50,000 illegal aliens who crossed the southern border since March 2021 have now been released in the United States without a Notice to Appear.

Unsurprisingly, despite all aliens being told to self-report to an ICE office when they reach their destination within the U.S. after being released by Biden’s DHS, the report uses primary sources to determine that just 13% have shown up so far.

Skyrocketing border apprehensions, which rose even through the sweltering summer months despite historical norms, point to the dramatic, and easily predictable outcome of the Biden Administration’s continued promises of Amnesty, dismantling of effective border policies, and recent “emergency decisions” to release aliens.

It is completely unprecedented for border officials to release illegal aliens into the United States without an official Notice to Appear in court.

Axios reports the “logic” of the Administration in making this decision, stating that the Biden Admin. hoped illegal aliens would turn themselves into the ICE field offices in order to obtain legal work permits after being released scot-free at the border. It does not require a nearly five-decade political career like that of Joe Biden to realize how flawed this thinking is.

The report continues,

Just 6,700 aliens who crossed between mid-March and mid-July showed up at ICE offices as of Monday, one source briefed on Department of Homeland Security data told Axios.

16,000 have not shown up and passed the 60-day reporting window they were given. That's over two no-show aliens for everyone that has checked in after release.

Another roughly 27,000 migrants who crossed and were released during the same time frame have yet to turn up, but remain within the 60-day window for reporting.

Just this past week (Jul 18-24), Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) revealed that 7,300 illegal aliens were released after apprehension in the Rio Grande sector of the border without Notices to Appear! It is rather unlikely that the Rio Grande border sector is the only sector releasing migrants without an NTA.

Rep. Cuellar stated that the total number of illegal aliens released since March, without notices to appear, was up to 55,000.

For what it’s worth, the White House attempted to placate critics by playing up their non-existent enforcement priorities in a recent “fact-sheet” published earlier this week:

We will always be a nation of borders, and we will enforce our immigration laws in a way that is fair and just. We will continue to work to fortify an orderly immigration system.
