Blackburn Leads Bicameral Move to Stop Greenlighting Driver's Licenses for Illegal Immigrants

Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) is introducing legislation that delivers tough financial consequences to states that flout federal immigration enforcement and harm public safety and national security. Senators Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.V.), Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) are cosponsoring the legislation and Rep. Ken Buck (CO-04) is leading twenty-one members in introducing companion legislation in the House of Representatives.

U.S. population growth is driven by immigration and is projected to reach over 400 million by 2065. This will create an increasing demand for new development, which will result in greater losses of our open spaces, wildlife habitats and natural resources at unprecedented and unsustainable rates. According to the U.S. Forest Service, between 1982 and 2001, over 34 million acres of open space was lost to development. By 2030, the total loss of forest space will equal the size of the state of Georgia.

Jan. Border Numbers Drop: 11% from Dec '19, 37% Compared to Jan '19

The apprehension of migrants illegally crossing the border between ports of entry fell in January by more than 11 percent as an eight-month decline continues. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials believed in early January that the numbers would increase.

Trump Administration Apparently Abandons Mandatory E-Verify

Despite the laundry list of campaign promises appearing throughout the FY2021 budget, one key aspect seems to be missing, mandatory E-Verify. The White House FY2021 budget proposal includes a significant change from past budget proposals from the Trump Administration in that it no longer calls for nationwide, mandatory E-Verify.

AG Barr announces lawsuits and significant escalation against sanctuary jurisdictions

Yesterday, the Trump Administration, primarily the Department of Justice lead by Attorney General William Barr, further targeted rouge sanctuary jurisdictions in California, Washington, and New Jersey.
