This week Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, introduced The Protection of Children Act (S.2561) that would remove loopholes to ensure that unaccompanied minors who cross the border illegally are promptly returned to their families in their home countries.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement released 90,000 illegal aliens back onto the streets that were deemed as criminal threats in 2015. The massive release was a result of Pres. Obama’s Priority Enforcement Program that puts the focus only on criminal aliens who pose a "serious" threat.

A lawsuit has been filed against South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley, The State Department of Social Services, and two other private organizations responsible for resettling refugees in South Carolina. The lawsuit asks for a halt in the refugee resettlement program in South Carolina “until a full accounting of any and all federal money used in this program and specifically where it was allocated and how allocated (and) in which counties.”
In response to the ongoing surge of illegal alien children and families coming across the southern border Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson, said the Administration will be expanding the Refugee Admissions Program to help illegal aliens from Central American qualify as refugees.
The Wisconsin Assembly passed legislation (AB 450) yesterday that would penalize local governments for maintaining policies that prevent officers from reporting the immigration status of anyone charged with a crime. If a judge finds a city in violation, state aid could be reduced by between $500 and $5,000 for each day the sanctuary policy remains in place. The measure now goes to the Senate.
During a press conference on Monday when asked about what DREAMers can expect if he wins the presidency Trump responded: “I want dreamers to come from this country. You mentioned DREAMers. You mentioned DREAMers? I want dreamers to come from the United States."

Tami Luhby, CNNMoney correspondent took up Ted Cruz’s claim that the United States has “the lowest percentage of Americans working today in any year since 1977” and declared it to be unambiguously false.
