The Treasury Department warned that illegal immigrants are collecting billions in refundable tax credits to which they are not legally entitled. An amendment proposed by Senator Sessions (R-AL) would simply require tax filers to provide a valid Social Security number to claim the Additional Child Tax Credit. Democrats voted unanimously to block the amendment, but it still passed by a vote of 12-10.

Data released by the Obama Administration show that the number of deportations in the first five months of fiscal year 2015 are nearly half of what they were in 2012 before Pres. Obama announced his executive amnesties. According to the data provided by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the rate of deportations is down 43% compared with three years ago.
Expressing the sense of Congress that the President's executive amnesty is illegal notwithstanding passage of H.R. 240, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2015.

The Senate Judiciary Oversight Subcommittee heard testimony from Kris Kobach citing three reasons why the president's executive amnesties are unlawful: “(1) the executive actions do not comply with the requirements of the Administrative Procedure Act (APA); (2) even if they did comply with the APA, they would still be in direct violation of substantive provisions of federal law; and (3) even if they did not violate federal law, they would still be unconstitutional.”
Immigration policy now drives more than three-quarters of U.S. population growth. Without changes to immigration, the U.S. is projected to add nearly 100 million people (the equivalent of two and a half California's) by the year 2051, putting additional pressure on our water supply -- a very real side effect of current immigration levels.
