Poultry Plant Manager Indicted for Hiring Illegal Workers
The manager of the Greenville, S.C. poultry plant is facing charges for knowingly hiring undocumented workers. The plant was raided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials back in October and more than 300 suspected illegal aliens were arrested at the Columbia Farms poultry processing plant.
Report: Illegal population growth slower in California
Roy Beck, executive director of Numbers USA, said the report strengthens the case against granting amnesty to illegal immigrants.
"There are more than 7 million illegal aliens holding non-agricultural jobs," said Beck, whose organization favors reduced immigration levels. A new Pew Hispanic Center report reveals a big increase in the number of children born in the United States to at least one illegal alien parent. In 2003, the group found that 2.7 million children had at least one parent who was in the country illegally, but that number is now up to 4 million kids. The report also reveals that 73 percent of all children of illegal aliens are U.S. citizens.
