DHS OKs 15,000 Additional H-2B Guest Workers
DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen today made available an additional 15,000 H-2B guest worker visas after determining there are “not sufficient, qualified, U.S. workers available to perform temporary non-agriculture labor.” Responding to the announcement, NumbersUSA CEO and President Roy Beck said, “This decision flies in the face of other Administration efforts to allow a tightening labor market to pressure employers to raise wages and to recruit from the around 45 million working-age Americans that government data show don't have a job."
