Seven States Sue to End DACA Program

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today filed a lawsuit on behalf of seven states that seeks to force the federal government to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. President Trump moved to end DACA after a 10-state coalition threatened such a lawsuit, but federal district courts in California, New York and Washington, D.C. ruled DACA must continue. Joining Paxton in the lawsuit are the attorneys general of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina and West Virginia.

Despite the unpopularity of sanctuary policies with the American people, California is leading the fight to nullify federal immigration law. The argument made in favor of sanctuary policies is that they make communities safer because illegal aliens are not afraid to report crimes to local law enforcement. There's a lot wrong with that argument, but defenders of sanctuary policies never let facts get in their way.

Polling again finds U.S. Christians want less immigration -- strongly at odds with their public religious leaders

New polling of American Catholics, Evangelicals and Protestants who are likely to vote in this fall's mid-term elections once again shows the majority of them have immigration views dramatically at odds with their leaders.

In a nutshell, most American Christians want a lot less immigration -- both illegal and legal.

By more than 3-to-1 margin, Evangelicals, Protestants & Catholics support reducing legal immigration levels

A Pulse Opinion Research poll conducted March 7-8, 2018 of Likely Midterm Voters found that reducing annual legal immigration to 750,000 or less is supported by Evangelicals by a 74%-to-17% margin, by Protestants by a 66%-to-22% margin, and by Catholics by a 68%-to-20% margin.

Judge: Administration Must Restart DACA Program Unless Rescission Justified

A third federal judge has ruled illegal the Trump Administration’s rescission of the DACA program. But unlike other judges, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia Judge John Bates ruled the Department of Homeland Security must start accepting new DACA applications within 90 days if it cannot adequately justify termination. The ruling, however, may have helped the Administration by laying out what that justification might entail.
