ICE Arrests 42 Illegal Aliens at Dulles Airport

ICE has conducted its second raid of the week at a critical infrastructure facility, this time at Dulles International Airport in Virginia where agents arrested 42 illegal aliens yesterday. Earlier in the week, an ICE raid at a military parachute company in North Carolina resulted in the arrest of 59 illegal aliens. Dulles was the target of a similar operation in 2006 that netted 55 illegal aliens.ICE interviewed more than 200 individuals to verify their identities, immigration status, and eligibility for lawful employment in the U.S., according to a related ICE press release.

Today, the Census Bureau again revised its U.S. population projection for 2050, giving us the bad news that we are headed to 439 million instead of 420 million. In nearly every measure, our local, state and federal governments can't even provide our current 304 million Americans with adequate infrastructure for a high quality of life in terms of the environment, transportation, public health, education, parks and many other areas, so why do federal officials insist on the immigration policies (particularly Chain Migration) to force us to handle 439 million?

Study: High Immigration Levels Linked to Higher Global Greenhouse-Gas Emissions

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a new analysis that establishes a causal relationship between high levels of U.S. immigration and significantly higher world-wide CO2 emissions. The reason the study cites is a transfer of population from lower-polluting countries to the U.S, a higher-polluting country. The study also notes that recent increases in U.S. CO2 emissions can be wholly attributed to population increases because per capita emissions have stabilized.

ICE, Local Officers Arrest 119 Illegal Aliens in Penn. and Del.

A 10-day ICE operation in Pennsylvania and Delaware netted 75 fugitive aliens and 44 other immigration violators, according to an ICE press release. Of these, 38 had criminal histories that included offensive touching and assault of a child, forgery, criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property, and narcotics violations. The arrestees came from countries around the globe including El Salvador, Indonesia, Mauritania and Mexico.

59 Illegal Aliens Arrested at N.C. Military Parachute Company

In what is billed as the largest bust in western North Carolina, ICE took into custody 59 illegal aliens who making parachutes for the U.S. armed forces at the Mills Manufacturing Corp. in Woodfin, North Carolina. A related ICE press release suggests the enforcement action neutralized a potential national security vulnerability.

Arrested Illegal Aliens Get Help From Bond Fund

Boston financier Robert Hildreth has formed the National Immigrant Bond Fund in an effort to aid arrested illegal aliens, the Washington Times reports. Critics fear the fund could make it easier for illegal aliens to disappear after being released on bail.

The fund will allow arrested illegal aliens who do not have any outstanding criminal violations to apply for financial assistance through churches, legal organizations or open-border groups. If approved, the fund covers half the bail money and the illegal aliens cover the rest.

Border Patrol Staffing Bunched up in California

The Associated Press reports that the U.S. Border Patrol has assigned more agents per mile to the San Diego sector as compared to other sectors that have historically been busier spots for illegal crossings. This is the case despite the fact that the San Diego sector has the shortest section of border and fences or vehicle barriers cover two-thirds of the sector’s boundary.The 60-mile San Diego sector has 37 agents per mile, while most of Arizona has 11 and the Rio Grande Valley and West Texas have nine. There are a total of about 15,000 agents on the Southern border, up from 9,500 in 2004.

ICE Arrests 80 Transnational Gang Members in Massachusetts

ICE in partnership with state and local law enforcement across Massachusetts has arrested 55 permanent residents and 25 illegal aliens involved in gang activity in the state. The four-day operation was part of ICE’s Operation Community Shield initiative, which targets violent transnational street gangs. ICE plans to deport the illegal aliens and will attempt to remove the permanent residents based on their criminal histories.

Local, Federal Cooperation Yields 31 Illegal-Alien Arrests in Two Days in Arizona

Yavapai County, Arizona deputies arrested 31 illegal aliens within two days in an area highly trafficked by human smugglers on Interstate 17, a Phoenix ABC affiliate reports. In one encounter, deputies pulled over a van that appeared to be overloaded. It was carrying 15 passengers who ICE confirmed as being illegally present after conducting phone interviews.Similar traffic stops yielded the arrests of six illegal aliens in one vehicle, and ten in another, after ICE verified the occupants were in the county illegally.
