Gov. Scott Walker's (R-Wis.) position to protect American workers from the economic effects of mass immigration has received criticism from many as being one that will alienate voters. However, polling from Gallup has shown that a sizable number of American voters are not only dissatisfied with the current levels of immigration, but want to see them reduced.
The sentiment of wanting lower immigration levels is spread across the entire political spectrum. According to another Gallup poll, pluralities of Republican, Independent, and Democrat voters want to see immigration levels decreased.
At a minimum, 74 percent of American adults don’t want to see immigration increase, putting them squarely in line with Gov. Walker's call to decrease immigration levels and protect American workers.
