Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Rep. Bob Dold (R-Ill.) made the push for amnesty for the approximately 11 million illegal aliens currently in the U.S on Wednesday during a business immigration policy roundtable. The roundtable was hosted by the the groups Illinois Business Immigration Coalition (IBIC) and the tech immigration advocacy group FWD.us, which was created by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and fights for increasing immigration, specifically increasing H-1B visa caps.

The meeting focused on discussing the “best practices for engaging bipartisan members of Congress to pass sensible reform that expands visas for high and low skilled workers and agricultural workers, and creates a path to citizenship for undocumented workers," according to a press release by the IBIC.

During the meeting Sen. Kirk advocated a program to reunite Mexican families by providing visas for people in Mexico to come to the U.S. Rep. Dold said, "It's about people before politics. We need to fix a broken system."

Both Congressman face tough elections this November and have broken with their party’s immigration policies to side with the pro-amnesty tech companies to increase access to cheaper, foreign labor. Many high tech companies including FacebookHewlett Packard, and Disney have used H-1B visas to replace American workers.
