New data from the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations office show increased activity in the first three quarters of this fiscal year compared to the last. Between October 2017 and June 2018, arrests of illegal aliens increased 17 percent while removals rose about 9 percent.
ICE arrested about 120,000 illegal aliens during the first three quarters of fiscal year 2018. That’s a 17 percent increase over the 102,500 arrests that occurred during the same period in 2017.
About 191,500 illegal aliens were deported during the first three quarters of fiscal year 2018, nine percent more than the 175,500 removals during that period in fiscal year 2017.
An Enforcement and Removal Operations official told reporters, “We continue to focus our enforcement efforts on those who pose a public safety threat and those who violate the integrity of our immigration laws.”
