Approx. 364,000 Alien 'Gotaways' Recorded so far in FY2022.

According to a source within Customs and Border Protection, approximately 364,000 illegal aliens have eluded apprehension at the southern border so far this fiscal year (October 2021-September 2022). In April alone, nearly 60,000 ‘gotaways’ avoided capture by Border Patrol after illegally crossing the southern border.

The CBP source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, stated that the 364K total is updated daily with evidence collected from technology systems, ariel surveillance, and physical tracking at the border. The ‘gotaway’ total is rarely released to the public by Customs and Border Protection.

Randy Clark, a former Border Patrol agent who now works as a reporter with Breitbart Texas, reports:

Agents previously told Breitbart the numbers of got-aways are likely much higher due to reduced field patrols. The surge in border apprehensions means agents are routinely relegated to administrative duties in migrant processing facilities.

According to the source, agents are increasingly spending most hours transporting, processing, and providing humanitarian care at border facilities instead of performing more important border security patrols. As a result, the source says, the absence of routine patrols is driving the got-away number.

According to fiscal year data reviewed by Breitbart News, the average ‘gotaway’ count totals more than 1,700 illegal aliens evading Border Patrol per day.
