Recently, there has been a significant uptick in Chinese nationals illegally crossing the border into the United States, another confirmation that no matter what the White House says - the world knows the U.S. border is all but open.
Thousands of Chinese nationals have already arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border, with many attempting to cross into the United States illegally. Still, Axios reports that thousands more are continuing north after crossing into Panama from Colombia.
"So the word is out, right?," Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-Texas) exclaimed. "If you can get to our southern border, you have a pretty good shot at getting in, and it has changed the demographics."
Axios spoke to one Chinese asylum shopper who illegally crossed the southern border. Sam (pseudonym) and his nearly-adult son left China fearing persecution from the monstrous communist party. Axios reported that Sam traveled through 11 total sovereign nations across four continents en route to the U.S., including Thailand, Turkey, Ecuador, Panama, and finally, Mexico.
Unfortunately, but expectedly, Axios failed to ask Sam what prevented him from seeking asylum from Chinese persecution in any of the other eleven sovereign nations he passed through on his way to the United States.
Nevertheless, after passing through nearly a dozen countries that could have offered refuge to Sam and his son, the two illegally crossed the U.S. border at Brownsville, Texas, where they were arrested by Border Patrol and detained for just five days before being given an October court date and illegally released into the nation's interior.
According to migration data from Panama's government, between Jan. and Feb. 2023, nearly 2,200 Chinese nationals crossed into Central America through the thick jungle between Panama and Colombia.
For context, throughout all of 2022, 2,000 Chinese nationals made the trip - and in 2021, just 77 were encountered attempting to illegally cross into the U.S.
Axios stated that Bob Fu, president of the Christian nonprofit ChinaAid, blamed three factors for the uptick in Chinese nationals illegally crossing the southern border -
- Further deterioration in human rights conditions and religious freedom in China.
- A rollback of more stringent U.S. border policies.
- A bandwagon effect caused by social media posts about people crossing the border.
Fu concluded that ChinaAid now receives several assistance requests from these illegal aliens every week, incidentally bringing in copious amounts of money for him and his group via the DHS resettlement program recently skewered by an inspector general for mismanaging tens of millions of dollars.
