Pro-enforcement candidates win in Texas runoff
Two results from Texas' GOP Primary runoffs on Tuesday secured nominations for candidates who oppose amnesty and support tougher enforcement. Brian Babin defeated the heavily backed Ben Streusand in the GOP Primary runoff in Texas' 36th Congressional District on Tuesday to fill the seat being vacated by Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas). Also, amnesty advocate David Dewhurst lost his re-election bid for Lieutenant Governor to state Sen. Dan Patrick, who ran on an immigration enforcement platform.
