Border Security and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2005
NumbersUSA's Position:
SupportH.R. 4312, the Border Security and Terrorism Prevention Act, would enhance infrastructure at the border and develop a National Strategy for Border Protection. It would also increase interior enforcement by eliminating the "catch and release" practice for illegal aliens and add 32,000 detention beds.

CLEAR Act of 2009
NumbersUSA's Position:
SupportH.R. 2406, CLEAR Act of 2009, would make sure local law enforcement agencies are reimbursed for the costs associated with incarcerating illegal aliens. The CLEAR Act also recognizes local law enforcement's authority to help enforce immigration law, improves information sharing between local law enforcement agencies and the federal government, and requires the federal government to expeditiously remove criminal illegal aliens.
