Public Description:

H.R. 1912, the Emergency Immigration Workload Reduction and Homeland Security Enhancement Act, would: place a moratorium on immigration until the government can effectively curb illegal immigration; suspend the visa lottery program that each year grants 55,000 visas until the government can effectively curb illegal immigration; ensure that the Federal government is able to deter entry and settlement of illegal aliens; and increase interior enforcement by requiring an integrated entry-exit system be implemented at all ports of entry and creating a public listing of every alien subject to final deportation orders for whom the country of return has refused such a response.
