U.S. District Judge Orders Biden Admin. Reinstate 'Remain In Mexico'
On Friday, U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk ordered the Biden Administration to reinstate the effective Migrant Protection Protocols (Remain in Mexico), stating that DHS “failed to consider several critical factors” before ending the program.
July Border Apprehensions at Nearly 200k
The Department of Homeland Security released official border statistics for the month of July, and apprehensions approached 200,000 with Border Patrol agents making 199,777 arrests. The number of apprehensions is more than 5 times the number of apprehensions from just a year ago and more than double the number from the same month during the 2019 border surge.
Senate Clears Path for Amnesty after Approving $3.5 Trillion Budget Reconciliation Resolution
Just before 4 a.m., the Senate approved the Democrats' $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation resolution with instructions to the Judiciary Committee to add an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens to its final budget reconciliation bill. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has instructed committees to complete their pieces of the budget bill by September 15.
